Reliable insider Nate The Hate and Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier have claimed that PlayStation has now shifted plans to keep its single-player titles exclusive to its consoles. In a new report by the latter, Schreier claims the likes of Ghost of Yotei and PlayStation titles planned for release in 2026, like Saros and Marvel's Wolverine, will not be coming to PC any time soon.

According to the report, multiplayer games like Marvel Tokon and Marathon are expected to launch on multiple systems going forward, most likely due to the massive success of Helldivers 2. Titles already promised to release on PC, like Death Stranding 2 and the recently announced Kena: Scars of Kosmora, will still launch, but after that, single-player titles from PlayStation will be for PlayStation owners only.

Schreier then goes on to claim that Sony's plans are shifting so consistently that plans for a Ghost of Yotei PC release were actually scrapped in recent weeks, as well as other internally developed PlayStation games. That suggests PlayStation's plans changed rather recently, though exactly why is still a mystery.

Guess I'm buying a PS6 after all...

No official confirmation yet. Even If it's indeed true they could easily change their decision again later on. Given the way current sony bosses operate lol no guarantees Like say when Sony execs/bosses/shareholders see that RE 9 is selling waaay better on pc than consoles lol

Pretty sure the current one can hook up to PC just fine as well?
True. But sony specifically market the new controller for PC. and before they promoted that LED ps branded screen for PC too.

Sounds like something to burn money on.

Sony's former boss Shuhei just said this from latest interview, read from eurogamer:

"As the game development scale and investment became larger and larger, it makes sense for me that in [the] PS5 generation they started to move their big games to PC.

"Releasing games on PC after a couple of years must have helped recoup the investment of these big budget games and help the team and company to reinvest that money into their new games," he noted during the keynote. "[I'm] not seeing any proof of them changing the strategy this generation, [but] it's going to be interesting to [see] how [Sony is] able to maintain the investment on the big budget games on [the] first-party side going forward."

However, there are caveats to the console-to-PC strategy. Whereas Sony adopted the position of releasing games on PC after their console debuts (with inconsistent timing, for the most part), Xbox opted for a 'day-and-date' approach… something Yoshida is more skeptical of. "If [Sony] was releasing new triple-A games on day one on other platforms, I don't think that's a good strategy for a platform holder like PlayStation."
