Gigantamax Pikachu is large and in charge, and it’s taking over six-star Max Battles during Pokémon GO’s next Max Battle Day event on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Gather your fellow Trainers to topple Gigantamax Pikachu as it wreaks electric havoc at Power Spots for its Pokémon GO debut. Like in the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games, Gigantamax Pikachu doesn’t evolve in Pokémon GO. If you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny one!

Don’t get too distracted by Gigantamax Pikachu’s impressive stature—as you attempt to add this absolute unit of a Pokémon to your Gigantamax roster, you’ll be able to enjoy a variety of event bonuses to make your quest that much easier.

  • Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
  • All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
  • Power Spots will refresh more frequently
  • Additional Power Spots will be active
  • 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
  • Up to three Special Trades for the day
  • Remote Raid limit increased to 20 (from March 27 at 5:00 p.m. to March 28 at 8:00 p.m. PDT)
  • 2× Max Particles from exploring (on March 28, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PDT)
  • 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles (on March 28, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PDT)
Gigantamax Battles can be tricky, but if enough Trainers work together, they’ll be much easier to take on. Gigantamax Pikachu is Electric type and learns a variety of different moves, so be sure to come prepared with Pokémon that have resistances and supereffective attacks.

Ground- and Steel-type Dynamax Excadrill and Grass- and Poison-type Gigantamax Venusaur are strong choices for supereffective damage and putting up shields with Max Guard. Teamwork makes the dream work, though, so if you want to support Trainers bringing in those Pokémon, Dynamax Blissey is especially helpful, with its high HP and powerful HP-restoring Max Spirit.
