It's a new month! Summer is sadly slipping away! And new updates on the GL forums.

Welcome everyone to a new month and the ninth update for this year! Got some good things going on of late so lets just get into it with...

---- Of the Month ----

---- New Admin ----

As I deal with day to day issues in my life and weird work schedules, I have enlisted the help of a new admin, Revolved101 King45Gamer ! to help around with the site. Expect greater response from the admin team in the coming days!


---- Spam ----

Much for the reason for the above new admin, the forum is being spammed as we gain more popularity and better looks! The first noted in spam issues is the 'Contact Us' link; I found it odd that I wasn't seeing site notifications in my email and check my spam email folder to see.... lots of porn and Russian messages coming on the contact email. So if you wish to contact me and other staff members, please see this pinned topic in this news board: To Contact Gaming Latest Owner and Staff

If they are going to keep spamming me, they are going to at least work for it!

Other spam issues include people signing up to spam links and leaving. Look, I get it. You want to get the word out to people about your projects or stuff, but my site will not turn into some flyer dumpster place. Make some posts, greet and interact with the other members and then I am more than happy to help get the word out about your stuff. As outlined in the site rules, if anyone is caught doing this their account will be banned and all posts deleted.

To combat this issue, me and Revolved101 King45Gamer are looking at bringing more mod staff on to take care of this. Kita Kita and froggyboy604 froggyboy604 , please combat any spam in the meantime. More on becoming mods will be posted in the very near future.


---- Behind the scenes issues ----

Some rather urgent issues popped up to my attention over this last month that I have been trying to take care of for the site. That and lots of interviews and studying that I have been doing has delayed a much promised item for the store, worry not though Danielx64 Danielx64 and cm2 cm2 the purchasable gift cards and owed contest rewards are coming this week or first purchase will be free.



---- We have an arcade ----

Yay! Finally our Arcade is live! Please see this board here for all information: Joining the arcade and other info

I will be tending to the results tomorrow, as its currently 2 AM here ^^;


----Misc forum updates ----

I cleaned up a lot of the widgets, you will find the forum stats on the bottom footer for all skins. Made it so the footer isn't so long down due to so many widgets, though still a gap in the modern gamer that I will work at.

Also Vice Admins are now called Managers with a blue banner to them.

Added gamescom and TGS prefix to the news section to better handle upcoming convention news.

That's an interesting question Daniel.
I was thinking about the same too. I have reported spam posts before but usually just one post for one spammer.....

That was a very long time ago.
I have seen a spam post recently but i forgot to report it. Let me check if I could find that spam post about after life again

I don't block IPs due to the fact like you've done you changed yours, and I could end up banning someone who has a legit IP. but I'll check with my hosting, they may have.

I always get a connection timed out error if I use my real I address. It's just weird. I hope it will be fixed soon
