During Sony's pre-E3 press conference today, news of the latest revision of the portable PlayStation hardware was capped off with the announcement of a potential new killer app -- Gran Turismo PSP. The racing game, which will extend the long-running and critically-acclaimed console franchise into the portable space for the first time, was demonstrated on stage for on-lookers to see in action firsthand.
We'll have more details on Gran Turismo PSP as they become available, but we already know a few interesting tidbits. First, the framerate will be locked in at 60 fps. Second, you'll be able to trade cars with other Gran Turismo PSP owners through Ad-Hoc wireless. And, third, you'll have plenty of opportunity to try out that feature -- because there will be over 800 different automobile models included.
And, you'd probably like to know, it'll launch on October 1 this year.
