Just finished what I consider another great anime, badly needing a third season. So Hakkenden focuses on a young kid who has been forever cursed with a young body and immortality thanks to a demon living in his body and is soon tasked with finding eight special beads which all relate to a tragic past that caused his living condition. From there he encounters seven other bead holders and all kinds of things happening along the way, which I believe they use a bunch of old Asian fables and string them together to form a great story line.
Only thing that put me off in this series was the strong sense of yaoi (male loving) in this anime, not as strong as you'll find in the descendants of darkness anime, but its clearly in this anime.
Overall the animation and artwork is beautiful with a soul calming sound track, an ost so good I'm waiting for an import of the soundtrack, I need it all in 320kbps/flac!
The battles overall were pretty good, nothing that really stood out though.
If you're looking for a good story filled anime, I recommend this one.
