I find it very diffcult to find free and good software for video editing which is as good as "Final cut pro, Adobe Premeir, Sony Vegas, etc."
I use Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Movie Maker which is free if you buy Windows, but in a way it is also paid since you need to buy Windows to use it.
I saw a few videos made with Apple's I-movie and the subtitles and captions look nicer then Windows Movie Maker.
