Has anyone heard of a new Starfox game coming out?

Starfox used to be my favorite video game for the Nintendo 64. Sadly enough, I've never seen Nintendo trying to remake this classic game though. Has anyone heard anything about this possibly being remade or anything of the sort?
 
There was a rumor floating about earlier about a Wii U game by Retro Studios that would be a crossover between Star Fox and Metroid. Sadly, no word of Retro Studios at E3, nor any word of a new Star Fox entry.
 
I would play a new Starfox game, but I haven't heard any news on this title. I played a couple of Starfox games, and I like the one on N64. Hopefully Nintendo will crank out another one for the fans.
 
There was a rumor flying around earlier this year regarding Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios creating a Wii U crossover title for Star Fox and Metroid, which would have Arwing Combat as well as Metroid Prime-like first person exploration. It's just a rumor, though, although it supposedly came from a very reputable source. We didn't hear anything from Retro Studios this E3, though, so there's no way to know if this is true or not.
 
Maybe something will come out for Wii U later on, that controller would make for a excellent starfox game.
 
Starfox is one of the greatest games released on a Nintendo platform. It's odd that these guys have abandoned the franchise like that. The 3DS one was more of a remake rather than a new entry. Let's hope they revive the series.
