How long will the numbered PS console go?

This is a really interesting topic! I personally think it would probably end very soon in fact maybe at PS4 or at most 5.. Would really sound stupid to say "Hey have you got your PS8 yet?" and you get a reply "Nope, still on the PS6 haven't even got my hands on the 7 yet!" I don't think they will ever give up developing gaming consoles altogether since it really is a lucrative business. They probably will just rename their consoles, work on branding and a new logo, and restart the numbering series again!
 
Wow. I was attempting to respond to this topic, and I accidentally made my own. The title is going to shock a bunch of people. I think that "PS4" will be the last numbered name Look at the thread, "PS4 is the End of the Line" to see what I tried to say.
 
They probably won't keep the normal numbers too much longer. They will however keep the "Playstation" branding. But after a while, the numbers might sound tedious.
 
In theory they could keep on like Windows, but
then people will start to grow sick of the product.
They will start to get PS6 haters for no other reason than its an old thing.
 
Who knows? How long they keep up with PS # will probably depend on how well the next ones sell.
If they don't do well, they won't continue with them. They will probably always have a bigger console like the PS,Xbox, etc to keep up with competition.

That's the sad part, That people are so blind that they'll simple see the number and feel it's old rather than look at the product itself.
