I never get any StreetPass tags. It is a very rare thing around here.
ditto. I used to get one at Target, one at Toys R Us, and one at GameStop, but nowadays none of those places' display consoles gives me the tag anymore. I went out twice in the past two weeks and got about 5 tags, though. It was an amazing rarity!
On average I get 0 lol. Unless I'm at the mall or some very populated area i'll get maybe 5. Craziest day was when I went to a convention called FanExpo (only in Canada) my 3ds wouldnt stop blinking from tags, it was insane.
I've actually been getting a lot recently this year. Usually I have to clear my cache multiple times because I get them almost every time I go anywhere with it. Usually I can say 7-8 times a day for me. I'm really glad to see more Nintendo 3DS users street pass more here in southern California.
I normally get an average of 5-10 which is surprisingly a lot considering I don't live in a city. I am not sure how it works because I once took it to work at around 7am and I got 6 hits!

What part of the UK do you live in then? Because to see 5-10 StreetPass hits a day is pretty damn good for the UK, a country where Nintendo's popularity is roughly non existent at best most of the time.
I don't get any 'legitimate' streetpass tags. But I can get dozens and dozens during the day using our 'Homepass' router we have set up. That lets me get streetpasses from all over the world, and actually be able to enjoy and use the Streetpass features on my 3DS. So I answered more then ten, but only because of Homepass. If I didn't have one, I'd essentially never get one but maybe for one every 6 months or so (Not counting my husbands 3DS).

I live in the Midlands region. My theory is that my town is overpopulated with college kids (equivalent to high school kids in america) so I imagined many of them carry 3ds. I also found out we have lots of hotspots located around the high streets so that would explain why I picked up 6 hits (which is the max) in the early morning.
I once took it to Birmingham and I got no hits. I sometimes carry it around London and don't get many unless I go to Oxford Street but even still it takes a good few walks to get 10 hits.
I usually get about one per day because my brother has a 3DS. Sometimes when I go out I'll get about 2 or, on a good day, 3. However, I went to the Best Buy E3 experience last year and got about 12. That was a good day! =)
Sometimes I get more than 10, sometimes I get 5-10 each day. And that's when I take my 3DS XL to school and everywhere I go I get passed by some people when I take long distance trips (like from Missouri to Illinois, Ohio, Indianapolis, Pennsylvania, and some New York).
And recently, When I went to the Mc'Donald's over by the highway, I got some Streetpasses from my town in Missouri and 2 people from Texas and Kansas. I even Streetpassed someone from Chile that probably traveled or moved here.
I get a minimum of one a day just because my brother has a 3DS, but aside from that it's pretty rare that I get one. I usually get one from the kiosks in stores like Target and Best Buy, and if I'm lucky enough a random person will pass by me. Oh, I usually get one whenever I go in the mall but that happens maybe twice a year.
