true. so very true. but this is mario, and its been around for a long time. no one in the series is really a spring chicken now, are they?

I'm hoping to not interrupt any discussion but I stumbled upon this interesting topic while searching information about the characters. I always thought Mario and Peach were a couple but I was shocked to know he had an ex girlfriend that also appeared in other games. Mind you I've barely learned about her as I purchased the game off e-shop recently. I was curious about the new girl that upon reading more information it came to my surprise she predates the princess and that she's the original star of the arcade Donkey Kong. So after all the information surfing I came to several different conclusions opposing her being the ex girlfriend. Not that I mind her being his ex girlfriend i'd like to see more of her.
My first conclusion is Mushroom Kingdom is an illusion and that Pauline is Princess Peach's real self once the effects of the mushrooms tone down and that Mario imagines everything else.
My second conclusion influenced by some of the discussion going on here is that Pauline is Mario's very elegant young looking Mother and that Jumpman is his father.
My third conclusion is that Pauline happens to be his sister named after their mother who is the original Pauline kidnapped by Cranky Kong.
My last conclusion is similar to my third, but instead of his sister she's only a close female friend mislabeled as his girlfriend by others.
