How to cope with toxic players

So basically troll them back is what you're saying? Lol.

Or just make it harder for them to do what they want. Like, I realized once while playing an MMO that a toxic player was pretty dependent on me to keep playing, and I was sick of the game, so I quit. A few months later, he quit.

Haha, well glad it work in your favour although some of them aren't as dependant. I usually find they troll anybody and everyone because they're just bored and got nothing else to do.

I think that is true in most MMOs, but this was a small, tight-knit community-oriented game. I was his second in command, so when I quit doing my job, I guess he never found a replacement and just gave up lol.

That makes sense. It's difficult with big games, usually you'd be lucky to find a mute player button.

I can't be arsed with drama. Get a new partner or take a break with a long RPG :)

A toxic player has certain intentions. If you feel there is an attack from a certain person, do not immediately engage in conflict.

Realize that the other person is deliberately directing you into a stressful situation in order to benefit himself. One wants to worsen your performance in the game in this way, and the other is getting even for his unhappy life.

Imagine that you are dealing with someone who has serious mental problems. On the other side may be someone with an antisocial personality disorder. He has fun doing things the way you can't, he enjoys doing them. His relationship with others is a use to his own ends. Such people come into contact easily and even inspire trust at first, but cannot maintain a lasting relationship. What feelings does such a person evoke? More like pity.

I usually respond with toxicity myself, depending on my mood of the day. Not a good solution obviously, and probably does me more harm than the people I'm flaming. I never start it, tho. The internet is just full of a-holes. Best way to deal with it would be to get another hobby then gaming, I guess. But F that, I'm not letting these losers win!

I barely play online honestly, because some are so toxic yet smart that they could even go as far as doxxing you.

Yeah, I really love these people that report me so I get chatbans of whatever... basically this is usually how it goes; I play World of Tanks. pos a-hat in my team comes along, pushes my tank around, blocks my shots, and generally sabotages me in any way he can. I tell him "%#!§!#! son of a !&"¤/! quit this !§&¤/ you re!"¤&%! as!"!"¤%(!"(%¤/" and then he reports it and I can't chat for three weeks. love it. I honesly think that to be allowed to use the internet, you should have no anonymity. you should have to have your full name and address listed for everyone to access, should you behave like a d###, so I could come knock on your door and see how tough you are then. Also I wouldn't be opposed to a mandatory global requirement to hook up to the internet, would be to also hook up a car battery to your testicles. That people could jolt through you should you behave like a piece of trash. Would probably stop a lot of people from being cu##s. And hey, at least if they don't stop, they're not gonna spread their degeneracy onto a next generation. I would love that.

It's a bit hard to do when they can see your skill rating in the game, get jealous that they can never get close to it, and decide they'll have more fun messing your game up, screwing over their entire team, then they will have failing miserably to engage a single enemy, unfortunately.. This is a common occurrence for higher level players in this game, also unfortunately.. You can anonymize your nickname in this particular game, so that your skill rating won't shot, but I refuse to avoid ratbrains like these..

(as you might have guessed, I'm a bit irrational and salty about this :D)

This is a very complicated topic. Most of the times it's better to not engage with people that are being toxic, but some other times you feel the need to step up. In an ideal world people wouldn't be toxic at all or the games would have better reporting/penalization systems that would allow to create more welcoming environments, but that is hard to achieve.

Playing LoL is the same thing as playing Toxic Player Simulator. The game is toxic at its core lol. Overall any competitive game is going to be full of people that rage and blame everything but themselves for their losses.

I blot them out of my mind and most of the time though I play games without chat. Funny to see the players lose to a content creator and that's about it. After that, all gameplay is the same and they lose because they are trying to let off steam.
