I've finally gotten all my consoles in one household now. I honestly never played either of these titles nor have I played Banjo-Tooie. I've heard these two games were excellent though. Since they were created by Rare, I saw no chances of them coming into virtual console. Might as well play it on the console it was made for!

Do these games live up to their reputation? I'm only curious.

Personally I loved both of them (Although I was pretty terrible at Goldeneye). I really wish Nintendo held the rights to Banjo-Kazooie, so they could do rereleases.

Yes. I had both games and they are great. Banjo-Kazooie is hard and Goldeneye is hard at first until you get used to it. Sort of. It took me 6 years to beat it. I mean I was 6 when I first played it so... yeah.

Both of them are out in the Xbox Live Arcade.

We don't have an Xbox anymore, lol. We traded it in to get a PS3 instead since we never used it. I think Banjo-Kazooie would work really well as a port for the 3DS though. Ah well, if I get desperate I can always hook my N64 back up!

I just got Banjo-kazooie in the mail. It certainly seems... kid friendly. Idk. the noises they make when talking. I would have preferred just text. Banjo makes that weird "huhe!" sound at the end whenever he gets a puzzle piece making me feel the game was directly aiming at a younger audience. The gameplay is great so far though. I agree on that. Also, I'm surprised at the soundtrack so far. Some songs are veerrry similar to Donkey Kong 64 it seems.

Yeah... Kid friendly... Trust me. There's a video called "Banjo-Kazooie Rated E?" After you beat the game, watch it. You'll see the game in a whole new way. Though there are some spoilers of Banjo-Tooie.

It's a lot like current cartoons really- Kid friendly package, but a lot of adult jokes hidden in the dialogue for those old enough to catch them. I never noticed the soundtrack being similar to Donkey Kong 64 though, now I've gotta go replay them!

In the early 90's I can see that, but in today's shows, not as much.

Ahhh, I remember those games. I never had Banjo-Kazooie on the N64, but was super pleased and snagged the chance the second I could when I spotted it on Xbox Live. It and the sequel sit with all Achievements obtained and a full completion... That I ended up doing TWICE in one year (or 2, not sure), after deciding to use my Online Xbox 360 profile as my primary one. Wasn't happy, I'd poured HOURS into both of them on the offline profile and couldn't move the data across. Oh well, I sped through them the second time, knowing what I was doing.

Goldeneye is also a classic. I remember playing that game a few times on multiplayer. Single-player? Not so much. A couple of levels. And I think we *might* still have it.

And if you think Banjo-Kazooie is kiddie, wait till you start playing the second game. Stuff goes down right off the bat. Mind you, it's still not Conker's Bad Fur Day, heh.
