Or at least make good use of a dusting Gamecube.
I don't see what's so special about using a GameCube controller in Smash. I get it, people were used to it in Melee and Brawl because the Wii had GC support, but if Smash 4 wasn't GC controller compatible, why would Smash 5?
I'm more upset that I won't be able to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. That's what I've been using since Brawl, but like everyone else I'll just have to adapt.
Personally, I feel like the N64 controller was the best. Even though the D-pad did nothing and was mostly for show. Though, now I feel like the Joycons in the controller it came with is the best feeling. The GC controller was commonly seen as the best controller Nintendo ever made.
Was it? I don't remember ever seeing anything about GameCube controllers for the Wii U. How do you plug it in? Or was it wireless?you mean the smash game on the Wii U right? That is GC controller compatible.

Hm... Surprised I haven't heard about it, but I guess that tends to happen when I'm not paying attention to things.
Nintendo released this for Wii U only for use with Smash Brothers for Wii U.
They released a special Gamecube controller too (usable on a Gamecube too): https://www.amazon.co.jp/任天堂-DOL-A-CKB-JPN-ニンテンドーゲームキューブコントローラ-スマブラブラック/dp/B00O9GW8VK/ref=pd_sim_63_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=7KKBY66RZCE474WGV58N
Well, Mario Party 1 was the most flawed. I remember getting giant blisters in the middle of my hand that lasted a week or so. I kept trying to play Mario Party, but it made control stick spinning impossible to win.I liked the N64 controller too, until I played Mario Party with it. (;^ω^)
