Vita TV, it's something Sony announced back at their pre TGS 2013 show which allows anyone to take a Vita game or a PSP game that works on the Vita and steam it's footage to the screen and with a Dual Shock 3 and 4 controller play it. At the time it was a Japan only release but days after it's announcement western fans have quickly showed support for it to hit other markets outside of Japan which surprised Sony.
When or if this is finally released here in North America and finally in Japan and becomes a big hit, then what is the point of handheld gaming in the first place for Sony? I do believe when you are home you should be able to play all games on the big screen and there is a need for many to take games on the go, but what is the point of running a console and a handheld if they just do the same thing at the end of the day?
I feel if Vita TV becomes successful, the struggling Sony handheld market will most likely be merged into the PS5 system in the 9th Console generation becoming what Nintendo is doing with their Wii U where the controller is both the control and gaming screen.
