Internet will be gone in 10 years...

If the US continues with the new bill on its campaign on censoring the internet to combat file sharing movies and music, a lot of people will just not use the internet anymore since what is the point of paying 30-40 bucks a month when most of the fun sites are censored for copyright infringement and opposing points of views of the government, movie and music industry, so people probably abandon the internet and find a different source of entertainment and communication which is less restrictive.

only way for this to happen is for someone to create a neo internet that can only be used by a new type of machine making all current tech useless. damn I wish I had the smarts to do this kind of thing.

Same for me, I wish I had the smarts and power to make a neo internet which can't be as easily controlled by the US Government and Corporations like the MPAA and RIAA. I am getting kind of tired of all the censorship, and viruses on the current internet.

there will always be viruses. no matter what internet is up.

The day this happens is the day the world ends. We are so reliant on technology and the internet that everything would just crash, and the apocalypse, per say, would happen. I just can't seeing this happening ever. It just can't go down. The government is always about 15 years ahead of society in technology, so they would know how to counter this.

Indeed, but if a newer internet is made where only a select few (nerds, geeks, people with antivirus, and antispyware) can use it then there will be fewer viruses since there are fewer uneducated computer users sharing infected files with others on Limewire. File sharing and people who install harmful files on computers is one of the reasons why many school and work computers are so slow.

There are a lot of people on the current internet which don't even use Antivirus, antispyware, and firewall software on their computer, so they don't even know their computer is infected, and every time they send a file to someone else they risk infecting other computers.

indeed, I over herd a person at my work complaining their pc was bad and had no idea and another asked them what protection they had and the person was clueless.

It is a good thing Microsoft started bundling Windows Defender with Vista and 7. Windows Defender is not as good as Microsoft Security Essentials and other free or paid anti-virus. But, It is better then no protection by default like Windows XP and older versions of Windows.

Although, I think some of the people who are clueless will just hit the "allow virus to run" button when Windows Defender tells them it is a virus since they're clueless on what a virus or spyware is.

Sometimes I wonder if clueless people should be allowed to use the internet since they might infect other computers by sharing infected files with their friends and family without knowing it.
