Namco Bandai announced a new co-op third-person shooter titled Inversion for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 that promises to turn the genre updside down.
Set in the near future, players take the role of either Davis Russel, a cop, or Leo Delgado, his neighbor, as they have fight off waves of invading Lutadore enemies with "revolutionary" gravity-based environments and weaponry.
On of the revealed weapons is the Grappler, which can manipulate the environment for either combat situations, such as moving camped enemies out into the open, or puzzle solving.
"Inversion will turn the shooter genre upside down, literally," said Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations, Namce Bandai Games America. "Saber Interactive's innovative gravity manipulation feature will blow away any preconceptions of what a contemporary shooter should be."
Developed by Saber Interactive, Inversion is currently scheduled for release in 2010.
