Is another game that allows you to visit past regions too improbable now?

You could visit Kanto in Gold and Silver, but will something like that ever be seen again?

I'm personally skeptical simply because it only made sense in gen 2 due to the setting literally being right next door to that of gen 1, while the later regions are likely a considerable distance apart.

Even more so now the series has moved from regions based on Japan to regions based on the USA.

BW2 lets you visit BW areas (after you defrost them).

Also, I think they could do it with another Japan-based game. The post-game quest in BW introduced the idea that N has gone off to a faraway land, so they may make another Generation in Japan and have him appear. Then, after beating the game perhaps you can visit the Sinnoh region or something. That could be neat.

Well it probably wont happen with the older regions...maybe a newer region in Gen 6th

I think it's very unlikely. It seems it was more like a one game thing.

Maybe you'll teleport to one due to an accident in a certain game and later on you switch between the two (probably a pokemon ranger game) for certain things.
