DVD and Blu-Ray disc playback may not be an important feature for most Gaming PC owners who also own a TV and Blu-Ray/DVD player or game console which can watch dvd and blu-ray movies.

But, not everyone owns a TV and Blu-Ray player because they can't afford or am not interested in buying a TV and Blu-Ray player.

Not everyone who owns a Gaming PC has the extra money to also buy a TV and Blu-Ray player, or can afford to subscribe to streaming video services like Netflix every month, and have a fast internet connection for watching Netflix and HD videos. Watching DVD and Blu-ray on a Gaming PC is a inexpensive way for people to watch movies without needing a TV and Blu-Ray/DVD player, and faster internet connection needed for Netflix.

I feel DVD and Blu-Ray video disc playback with a disc drive is still an important feature for Gaming PCs because not everyone has a TV and DVD/Blu-Ray player in their home, or want or can afford to own a TV and Blu-ray player. Some PC gamers may only own a Gaming PC and monitor which they used for most entertainment, work, and homework related tasks, so they only can use their Gaming PC for watching Blu-Ray and DVD movies.

People who can't afford a TV and standalone Blu-Ray/DVD player may not be able to afford services like Netflix, so some people use the public library to borrow disc movies for free, or buy old DVD movies which can cost $5 or less at department and discount stores.

I would think it is, but you never know about a person's own interests.
