Do you feel that paying gold membership on Xbox live has been worth it?

Well let me think about it...

On one hand you hae PSN+ that gives you free games and PSN that has free online.

On the other hand I'm a HUGE online Halo fan and Microsoft does do great job on maintenance and keeping the servers up in comparison to PSN.

So I would have to say yea, its worth it for me, but I can see how it would not be for others.

To me i've never been bothered by it. I've never had any problems where i've felt it could be better considering i'm paying for it.

And when I think about the money, it's hardly anything really. £40 per year, thats £3.33 per month, that's £0.11 per day.

If their parents can afford to buy them the console in the first place, which i'm sure in most cases they did then surely the parents can afford 11p a day. It's better than having your kid out on the street.

It is not too bad i pay around £5.99 a month for a Gold account so yes it is worth it especially up untill christmas as Xbox Live Gold are giving away free games every month

Many have asked this same question numerous times and my answer has always been the same. I have been happy now for 5 and a half years paying for Xbox Live. I know that I will get a great service, uptime is 99.9% and any downtime is always worked out quickly. The fact that they are as stated above giving away free games each month now also makes it more worth it.

Mine is £39.99 yearly. I pay it yearly not monthly, but that works out to £3.33 a month.

If you are paying it on a monthly basis and are paying £5.99 a month then you are paying £71.88 per year instead of £39.99 which is ridiculous!!!

This is what I have turned to doing now. I was paying a monthly price but worked out I was paying more than paying outright for a year, the only problem is if you are not a regular gamer online it can feel a though you are wasting your money when paying on a yearly basis.

The XB1 basically needs Gold or it won't do jack.

On the other hand, the PS4 and Wii U kick its ass.

Solution: PS4 or Wii U

Hey you give me an idea i didn't know that paying for Gold yearly was cheaper this is something i will look into thanks for telling me this GamerPerfection

I purchase the yearly memberships and if you look carefully online, you can usually pick them up for around £26. I don't mind paying for my Xbox Live subscription, as I find the multiplayer unmatched. Every time I go on my PS3, online play either lags or disconnects in 2 out of 5 matches.

If you mostly play single player games, Xbox Live Gold won't be worth it, but if you play online multiplayer games it could be worth it depending on how often you play online multiplayer games.

I never bother buying Xbox Live Gold since I usually just play single player games, and don't use my Xbox enough to make Xbox Live worth it.

Well at the moment you get 2 free games per month, so in that sense...yes its very worth xbox gold for that purpose. Many people take the easy way out and pay for the year although thats not really cost effective as you can buy 48 hour codes, which works at £2.75 for the month.

My husband and I have to change our plans to yearly.. we've been paying every 3 months and when it is time to renew, we just do it, forgetting to switch our plan over every time.. by the time we realize this, it is usually too late..

As for being worth it, I'd say that it was.. for me it is another good way to keep in touch with my siblings..
