Is Professor E Gadd up to something sinister in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon?

Don't believe I didn't see this, but look carefully in this screenshot. All the paintings show different enemies and ghostly locations in the game, and right to the right of the picture seems to be a creepy as hell looking painting of Professor E Gadd...

Maybe it's just meant to be an easter egg or a reference to him as a character, but the way he's standing looks plain demonic, and makes me wonder. Did he have 'evil' ancestors?

Does he get possessed by someone in the game?

Is he really working against you and trying to get Luigi killed?

Also, the Boo in the painting looks like its from a Mario sports game...

Oh wait, that's his New Super Mario Bros Wii art. Looks like the company just put it through a Photoshop filter for the background.

Wouldn't it be kind of surprising if you got near the end and it turned out Professor E Gadd was the one who set all the ghosts free?

I doubt E. Gadd is an enemy. Look at the games he's been in, he's always been a helpful character to Mario and Luigi. I wouldn't see why Nintendo would change his ways. I'm thinking that's just a room where ghosts keep a portrait of him to view him as an enemy to them. Like how his book he wrote about the portraited ghosts was discovered in Neville's room in the original.

Other than that, perhaps all this could just be an invention created by E. Gadd himself to help Luigi overcome his fears of ghosts (as well as King Boo)?

Well, I'm hoping they'd add a hidden room somewhere in one of the mansions that references to these guys like they did with the Shroobs in Bowser's Inside Story.

i used to have Luigi mansion i am hoping to get this one looks fun and in Luigi mansion E. gadd gave you upgrades or something
