Issues with computers

Lucky for me, my husband's degree is in electronics. So, there's no need for me to call IT for help when IT already lives in the house with me.

What do you usually do?
Do you call for help? Or do you usually try to fix things up by yourself?

If it's something that I can fix, I would do it myself. If it involves opening up the computer, I'm taking it to the tech support.
