Android TV brings effortless entertainment right to your living room. First on JBL LINK BAR, a soundbar powered by Android TV with the Google Assistant Built In. Coming Fall 2018.
This looks more useful than a voice controlled speaker because it has Android TV which is compatible with many Android apps, games, and controllers.
But, I feel this Sound bar with Android TV and Google Assistant is not good for users who are more concerned about their privacy because the Mic on the JBL sound bar needs to listen to the audio of your room for Google Assistant and Android TV voice command to work.
It would be nice if there was a version of this sound bar without a microphone since some people may not want to use the mic, and don't feel comfortable having a mic which is always ON until you unplug the sound bar or physically turn off the speaker by unplugging it from its power supply or turning off the entire sound bar by shutting it down by pressing the power button.
Hopefully, there would still be basic sound bars in a few years for people who just want a soundbar which does not have a mic, and internet access capabilities with Android TV.
