This looks fantastic:

It's only fan art (as drawn by 'jmatchead' on DeviantArt), but damn it makes me almost wish we got something like this back on the SNES or Game Boy Advance. Maybe that would have led to new Kid Icarus games for the next ten or so years...

What do you think?

Pit looks a bit too pixelated but other than that WIN

Also, the title of the thread: Kid Icarus Uprising as SNES style game?

SNES style? Pixelated? No freaking way.. [/sarcasm]. What's next? A Game Boy style game that's too 8-bit and greyscale?

He probably means the enemies who are scaled. You see SGE, back then there was only very limited 3D rendering on consoles so you had to use pseudo 3D meaning scaling, skewing, or animating 2D images to make a 3D effect.

Mode 7,it was.

Was used in games like Super Castlevania and such. It allowed backrounds to move and do other stuff.

Yep, but I didn't want to just say "mode 7." Pilotwings for the SNES mad pretty good use of it too, as well as Starfox.

Looks pretty recognizable to me. If there wasn't that background I would still be able to tell that it's Pit.
