King Boo sounds pretty bitter in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon...

King Boo: "Hey, remember that time you trapped me in a painting for all eternity? Good times."

Found this quote on the TV Tropes page for the game, and I have to say the sarcasm kind of amused me. Not to mention it's nice to see him reference the original game in some form, right?

i honestly didn't expect the game to be about moon shards or whatever, i thought it'd be mario or whoever else getting kidnapped again

though some of the dialogue is hilarious

They never really explained how king boo escaped his painting, did they? Unless I missed something...

One possibility could be that some other boos used E. Gadd's dark light on his painting...but...it seemed to me like that only works on paintings which the boos created...

I dunno...

Oh my God, you are like totally ignorant to the concept of spoilers, aren't you? Nothing like
quoting from the final boss fight.

Was E. Gadd joking when he said he sold it at a yard sale? Because he said that...

Yeah, about that...

Is it just me or does E. Gadd's personality seem a bit exaggerated compared to the first game? He's so crazy! And even a bit careless. He sends out useless Toads to do work and then forgets about them, he sells pictures of purely evil ghosts in yard sales...
In Luigi's Mansion 1 he was just a nice old guy who made ingenious inventions. He was witty but had a heart of gold.
But in this one? He's NUTS!

He's also a bit... cynical. Like when he pretty much says 'well, we're screwed' when trying to think of what skills Luigi has. Or how he admires how some bosses are trying to creatively kill Luigi (they toned that down a bit for the European version).

Classic Boo.

My guess is that Bowser or his minions did it. Maybe a Magikoopa was responsible.

I thought since Bowser's Inside Story, maybe Fawful did it.

King Boo is my favourite character. The idea of a crazy staircase attacking :luigi: is weird. The Ice Lake Face thingy is :banghead:

I thought maybe Bowser Jr or the Koopalings (Because of NSMB Wii) freed him.

How long was between LM and LM2?
Because when he said "Trapped me in a painting for all eternity", I was wondering. Plus, how old is our favorite characters? I mean, Link doesn't count because of his adult era/child era, but Solid Snake is like 500 years old, and Mario isn't young. Nor is Kirby, Samus, Professor Oak, DK, etc. How old are they by now...?
