Watched this and it was awesome. I'm too lazy to write a full review but it's got that zombieland saga vibe going for it and I loved the music and songs in it. One of the songs has crossed 300 million views in 2 months on yt.

Animation and visuals is another strong suit. It has a weird stopmotion look and feel but they made it work and it's still visually stunning. Recommending it to everyone.

I wish it wasn't on netflix, but I'll watch it soon.

KPop demon hunters looks like a fun and exciting action movie with a kpop music theme. The animation looks nice.

The show won 2 oscars 2026 Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song nice!

Though the acceptance speech was cut off:

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Oscar win sparks debate after acceptance speech is cut off

the celebratory moment sparked online debate after the acceptance speech for “Golden” was interrupted by the play-off music typically used to signal speakers to wrap up.

EJAE, who was the singing voice for Rumi of the fictional idol group HuntRix in the film, spoke first on behalf of the performers.

“Thank you so much to the Academy,” EJAE said. “Growing up, people made fun of me for liking K-pop. Now everyone is singing our song, and in all of the Korean lyrics. I’m so proud.”

EJAE appeared emotional as she delivered her speech.

But controversy erupted when producer Lee Yu-han, part of the production team behind “Golden,” stepped up to continue the remarks. Before he could speak, the orchestra music began playing, effectively cutting him off.

Some viewers interpreted the moment as a routine time-management decision during a live broadcast. Yet criticism grew online after audiences noticed a striking contrast with other awards that night.

Shortly before the Best Original Song announcement, the Best Cinematography winners were reportedly given nearly four minutes for their acceptance remarks. By comparison, the speech for “Golden” lasted less than two minutes before the play-off music began.

The bigwig in charge of the Oscars telecast has explained why the plug was prematurely pulled on the speech given by the songwriters behind KPop Demon Hunters.
Rob Mills, who is the Executive Vice President of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment at Walt Disney Television, said there will likely be an overhaul of the rules surrounding speeches to avoid any similar incidents in future.

Speaking to Variety about the awkward moment that the KPop Demon Hunters songwriters experienced, he said: "One thing, as we post mortem for next year, will be to look at how we’re handling speeches.

“You win the Oscar, you know you go on stage, it could be one person, it could be five or six. Immediately you’ll see the sort of allotted time we have for them.

"Do we need to look at it and say, okay, designate one person to speak. Maybe you continue it backstage, and we have a feed on social or something like that.

"We look at everything and figure out what is the most elegant solution, because it is difficult, especially when you’re cutting somebody off and it’s their one moment.

"We talk about it at the award luncheon, that you have this designated time to speak, and it’s difficult.

"I don’t know what the most elegant solution is, but it’s obviously something we should look really, really long and hard at."

Explaining why the performance of 'Golden' was also wrapped up quickly, Mills said it was 'by design'.

"That wasn’t something that you can call an audible on, because those things are so well-rehearsed," he continued. "Yes, they cut a verse.

"But I think certainly with the lead up and the production, you got a feeling of it. Probably what is the best thing musical number can accomplish is it makes you want to go and watch the movie again.

"I think both musical numbers, they really encapsulated both the sort of just the feeling of those movies, beyond just just the music."
