In response to reported matchmaking delays in The Last of Us Remastered's multiplayer mode, developer Naughty Dog is preparing to launch a patch that reduces wait times in between matches.

Patch 1.02 will be released in North America today and is expected to release in Europe this weekend and in Asia next week. However, the patch's release date in the UK has yet to be announced.

"As many of you may know, especially if you are among the many, many, many people who have been playing our Factions multiplayer mode, that some people have been experiencing long wait times while trying to find a match," reads an update on the developer's blog. "We've deployed several LiveUpdates over the past week in an effort to improve the matchmaking wait times. Things have definitely improved but there still remains work for us to get the matchmaking experience where we feel it should be. Patch 1.02 is our latest effort to continuing improving the matchmaking experience."

Naughty Dog encourages players experiencing delays to quit out of matchmaking and re-select "Find a Match" in hopes of speeding up the wait times. Players are also reminded to check their downloads notifications to make sure that the game's update file has been downloaded and installed.
