Least Favorite Video Game Genre

Mine would have to be Sports games. Sorry, but I just don't enjoy playing them. I'd much rather go out and play whatever sport it is because to me, that is more fun and I get excercise. Just my opinion though. I mean, obviously the games still sell pretty well.

I'm not sure if there are any genres I outright hate. I always try to give everything a fair shake, even if I don't think I'd like it. That said, I've never really been able to get into racing simulations. I can do arcade racers just fine, but anything super realistic bores me and has such a high learning curve. I suppose knowing a little more about the mechanical side of cars would enhance my enjoyment!

Sport games and roguelikes definitely. Don't take me wrong, I admire the effort put into keeping these genres up and going but they just don't have the same charm like they used to years ago. Maybe I should take off my nostalgia googles but nowadays all the NBAs are just rehashes of older ideas and none of them bring anything new to the scene. As for the roguelikes, they just seem too hard to get into and I've wasted way too much time trying to comprehend their mechanics.

My least favourite video game genre should be football...

Never liked football at all.

Turn based games or JRPGs. I hate the gameplay with a passion. I didn't play so many games I wanted to play.

I'd have to go with first person shooters because most of the time they're all based on war and you're killing other people and I'm not into that kind of thing. The only FPS I've ever really liked is Halo because you're fighting aliens. I'd play more FPS's if they weren't all about humans killing humans.

You'll enjoy Doom, alot.
