Actually, Other M has sold 1.12 million, 720,000 of which is from North American sales.

And again, Prime was a really good game. lol

Yea, after reading around the web I just found out that it recently just sold over 1 million early this year.

But it still took well past its release date (17 months actually) to even reach that point which IMO is not that great of a feat given the amount of time.

Also, as was pointed out in the article, holiday season and a very low price tag was what helped it achieve that goal.

So in my book, it still was a failure.

And I never said that Metroid prime was not a good game.

But I think Super Metroid is still the best metroid game by far.
 
I actually LIKED Metroid othe M.

Although its definitely not the best metroid game I have played, It still offered a unique take on the metroid formula with the new combat and look.

- SPOILER ALERT -

But one of the main things I hated was the story and how they made Samus seem so "uncool" with her only using her most powerful weapons if Adam gave her permission (which some say was sexist) or her freaking out when she saw Ridley despite the fact that many times in the past she has been shown to never be scared of him.

And yet when they met in this game she was reduced to a pitiful canotonic state which really did rub me the wrong way and ruined her established calm and badazz attitude.

Also the lack of a purple gravity suit did not sit well with me either.
 
Yeah, I never really understood why people complained so much. It was a back story, Samus had to get her badass-ness from somewhere, right? lol

wait what???

This was not a back story, its actually set after Super metroid and before Metroid fusion which would place this game as the latest adventure of Samus's next to Metroid fusion.

Not sure if you know this, but the storyline of the metroid series from first to last game are as follows

Metroid
Metroid "Prime Series"
Metroid 2 Return of Samus
Super Metroid
Metroid Other M
Metroid Fusion

Her "freaking out" would be completely understandable IF this was a origin or "back story" but sadly that is not the case.

This game probably marked the 5th time she had fought Ridley which really does not give her an excuse to be reduced to such a pitful state once she sees him.
