Live-Action Metroid Movie

This video was rather painful to watch... The build up to the major scene was just terrible (listening to the scientists swap stories of Samus's accomplishments using the wrong pronoun). And then when Scientists and Samus met and they tried to hit on her? Ugh, that was terribly awkward and dumb. The video felt like the creators tried to play Samus and Scientists meeting like a joke but it really just falls short.

Samus' suit wasn't too bad looking, but it really looked kind of flaccid (like it had bits hanging loosely off it and flopping) which did kind of kill things for me. Special effects were ok, nothing amazing or terrible.

I wouldn't mind seeing a real Metroid movie... But if they do one, I think it needs to be done CGI or animated instead of live-action. Live-action just wouldn't work that great here since a lot of what would need to be done would probably have to be CG'd in anyway. (Ridley, Motherbrain, Metroids, etc...) Though it would be neat to see them create a decent live action version of Samus' suit. (Get Stan Winston Studios to make the suits... They made the Iron Man suits and those looked fantastic.)
 
I know of the origins of Samus, but that doesn't change the fact that their execution of that joke was just painful and awkward and not funny at all.
