Loads of characters in New Super Mario Bros 2?

This bit seems very promising:

yet traditional side-scrolling Mario adventure game featuring Mario, Luigi and lots of other favourite characters from the Mario universe.

Now maybe I'm a bit naive, but this is a rather interesting thing to use as a marketing point. Assuming Peach and Bowser are back, does other favourites mean we might get stuff like Yoshi as rideable, Koopalings, maybe Bowser Jr, Boom Boom or various others? Some people are even hoping for Professor E Gadd and Toadsworth here...

In fact, given how popular the Koopalings are and how popular Kamek is, I now bet the game will turn out to have many of the same characters as the Wii one did. Hooray for fan favourites!

I hope Wario, Waluigi and Daisy will be there, because they haven't really been in a platforming game with Mario before (except in the Super Mario Land series, and not even Waluigi).

I'd love to see different characters with different power ups a la mushroom kingdom fusion. It'd be even better if we had wario who plays like Wario land/world.

Agreed.

Unlike many other people who would disagree, I would rather see Blue and Yellow Toad as playable characters again rather then Wario and Waluigi. I personally think they'd look... out of place... In a Mario 2D platforming game. But, I will say the more the merrier, so if EVERYONE I just stated gets in (which has so little probability it's not funny) as playable I'll be happy.

Also, hopefully we see familiar faces and new ones. I'm hoping for another round with all the Koopalings, Kamek, and Bowser Jr before battling Bowser himself.
