I'm on the fence. I loved Mario tennis Power Tour, and that looks like that's basically what this is. But with Pokemon Conquest coming out soon and money being tight, is this worth an investment? It doesn't sound to be too in-depth, and I read that the characters aren't too different from each other... doesn't sound all too special IMO.

If you expect something more then tennis, no it's not. But if you like Tennis and like a good challenge (those special games are hard and it's even harder to unlock everything) it's a great buy. Even if you play Online, that's still a lot of fun and not as bad as Mario Kart 7's lag issues.

Just because you use a Chance Shot doesn't guarantee you'll win the point, neither. If you're willing to shove some good time into this game then go ahead and get it, because it'll take a while to unlock everything for your Mii, then there's the hidden characters, best to clear the last Champions Cup with ALL characters to get their Star versions, then you'll need to clear the Star Open to get a new court which isn't easy, then don't forget that's 8 Cups in all which is then DOUBLED because you have to play in Doubles matches as well.

But, if you do not like tennis, not even if you take out the famous guys and girls and shove in Mario characters, then no, it's not a game for you.

I think it's a pretty good game. It feels more like a console tennis game rather than a handheld one. However, your Mii is completely customizable. You can unlock different outfits for them to wear. There's no more over-powered Power Shots, yet the new Chance Shots, although better, can't be turned off. The gyro-sensor mode works well, but is sort of broken because it basically moves your character for you, so you can just focus on aiming. This is all fine and dandy in single-player, but.. it's not disabled, nor is there a way to disable it, in multiplayer mode. So yeah, that kind of sucks. Overall, I think it's a good tennis experience for the 3DS. Just don't expect it to leave much of an impact on your library, unless you try to go for 100%-ing it.

Hmmm. I might have to get it just out of a necessity to own all Mario games. That and I want a new 3DS game.

I was never big on playing as a Mii though... I worry that Nintendo already killed the joy of Miis years ago, but they're still everywhere...

I've gots it too, and all I was going to say has pretty much been said.

If you like Mario and tennis, then nab it. If you're only a lover of Mario, then put it in the "maybe" basket. If you like tennis though, it's a nice one to get.

It's like a portable Gamecube version, pretty much. if you played that and liked it a lot, then you'll like this one.

Mario Power Tennis is a favorite of mine. I went through the effort to star everyone. So yeah, Mario + Tennis = usual must-buy. I'm just so sad to hear that Yoshi is no longer faster but less accurate than Shy Guy.

I'm sad to know that Shy Guy only exists in this game through the form of a costume for your Mii. Which requires 20 StreetPass matches to unlock. Which I'll never get anytime soon.

Apparently Boo and Luigi are among the god tier characters here. Along with the Mii, due to it's customisability. But hey, who listens to those things anyway? I like me some rally challenges.

...I'm pissed. I'm all for Boo though. I guess I should've checked out the roster.
