So remember that new BlackBerry we couldn't tell you much about back at CES? Well we just spent some quality time with it at MWC, and now we have more than just a final name.

The best way to describe the BlackBerry KEYOne starts with its purpose. At a time when most devices are becoming gigantic for the sake of content consumption, the BlackBerry KEYone is a different breed. BlackBerry became famous years ago for making really secure and reliable communicators, and the KEYone is mainly focused on serving this market.

This looks like a good Blackberry Android smartphone for people who need a keyboard, and want to use a lot of texting Android apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and social networking apps with messaging.

keyboard looks awfully tiny though.

I agree the keyboard does look very tiny. Blackberry keyboard has a text prediction software which let you choose from a short list of word predictions base on the last word you type, so you don't need to type as much if the text predictions are good.

I think Blackberry users who are used to the tiny keyboard may complain if the keyboard becomes too big since the Blackberry keyboard was always tiny. Most physical smartphone keyboards are usually tiny, so user's with shorter thumbs can still type quickly without needing to move their thumbs and fingers too much to reach keys which are farther away from their thumbs and other fingers. Blackberry's biggest phone which is the Passport also has a small keyboard, so the tiny keys may be good for typing with one thumb compared to larger keyboards.

A lot of phone users usually text with one thumb while they are using their other hand is holding something like a soda can, burger, book, etc, so the keyboard needs to be tiny enough where you can still text with one thumb.
