Windows 10 continues to be hit by an unacceptably large number of self-inflicted problems. And Microsoft’s latest warning to its users perfectly sums this up.

Picked up by Windows Latest, KB4515384 - an update Microsoft released to fix the CPU spiking search problem - is not only causing new search problems, reports state it is breaking the Start menu, Action Center and USB connections while also causing audio problems.

“Typical Microsoft, fixes the CPU usage by completely breaking search so it can't even be used,” said one affected user.

“This update again introduces the same problem as the previous update,” wrote another on Microsoft’s Feedback Hub. “Part of the problem is a high CPU usage (~30%) and a totally broken search function. Currently, I see no other option than to blacklist this update also to prevent update [from reinstalling] again and again.”

Meanwhile, the Windows Latest reports the Start menu stops working for some users who have upgraded to KB4515384 with Windows 10 delivering the following errors: “We’ll try to fix it the next time you sign in” and “Critical Error - Your Start menu isn’t working”

For its part, Microsoft has now warned users about both issues, but this is just the start.

Been talking about this on a Discord server and I pointed out that there is one version of windows 10 named LTSC. Now, this version of windows only get security updates and bug fixes - no new features at all.

While this version of windows is rather stable, the 3 main drawback is:

- No new hardware support (yes it may work but not in a supported manner)
- It costs heaps
- Not easy to get a hold of.

Sadly WaaS model sucks.

why does it cost a lot?

It costs a lot because you need to get a volume license agreement from Microsoft, and there are other requirements that must be met. Also, that license is an upgrade, so you need an OEM license of Windows 10 Pro as well.

Hopefully, Microsoft fixes these problems with Windows Update, so they don't cause as many problems for users.
