Trying to play this but I keep getting swarmed by enemies and dying really quickly. Anyone played this and can offer some advice because it seems I die too quickly no matter what I do?

As a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings, needless to say I was super hyped for this game. But (oh that dastardly but) I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would. Honestly, I couldn't even finish it.
Now I'm not saying the game was bad, as I did get several hours of entertainment out of it. But it just started feeling so darn repetitive. The problem is that the kind of open-world system that Shadow of Mordor adopted is inherently repetitive in nature. Once I started feeling like I was doing the same missions and side quests over and over, I put down the controller and never looked back.
I don't get how people were so excited about the nemesis system either. I had maybe two or three Orcs that were memorable, and the rest felt like copy/pasted clones with randomly generated names. Once again, repetitive, repetitive, repetitive.

Yeah my thoughts have roughly been the same. At the time it was touted as a game changing experience, I think playing it now, a couple years on, after some other excellent games, it feels pretty average.
