Capcom revealed Monster Hunter World tonight at Sony's E3 conference, showing a fierce fight between a T-rex type beast, dragons and humans. MHW will support up to four-player co-op in a newly designed online drop-in multiplayer system which allows cross-region cooperative play between Japan and the west.

It will launch on PS4 and Xbox One in 2018 and on a later date for PC. Here is capcom's press release:

Monster Hunter: World introduces a living, breathing ecosystem in which players take on the role of a hunter that seeks and slays ferocious beasts in heart-pounding battles that unfold across the vast ever-changing terrain.

Retaining the series’ skill based progression and robust crafting system, players gear up to venture on quests to seek and slay monsters, progressively improving their skills to become the ultimate hunter. Loot collected from fallen foes can be used to create new equipment and armor upgrades styled after the monsters they’ve slain, allowing hunters to survive the elements and defeat the tougher opponents that await them.

Monster Hunter: World delivers a seamless gameplay experience allowing players to move freely across map areas that comprise the living ecosystems and dynamically transition from day to night. The landscape and its diverse inhabitants play a critical role in each quest as players strategically use the surrounding environment including terrain, vegetation and wildlife to their advantage in battle or become hindered by the hazards they present. Hunters must use their cunning and abilities to track and maneuver their targets throughout the intense, evolving battles.

With flexible online multiplayer options and an accessible quest structure, players can tackle challenges alone or join up to three other hunters online for cooperative play. For the first time in the Monster Hunter™ series, players from Japan and the west can play together online, providing an expanded base of cooperative hunting companions. With the new online drop-in functionality, solo players can hail for assistance from the worldwide group during quests when their opponents are too daunting to take on single-handedly.

This year there would be 2 Monhun games. First, XX for the switch and Monster Hunter World for console. They said that the gameplay would be more open and they are going to sacrifice the mission based.

It's coming on PC?? Excellent!
I always wanted to try a Monster Hunter game but I never owned the proper console, so this will be a first time for me. I only hope that the port will be good.. and of course that the game itself will be good, but this trailer actually look promising. After all everything is better with dinosaurs.

I've never played a Monster Hunter game. Think this one would be easy for new players to understand? It's a franchise I want to get into but there's so much to play. The backlog is real...

This looks so cool and I would love to get into a Monster Hunter game. I've only played 3 Ultimate on the 3DS and I got through the tutorial and played for an hour before I got really bored of it. What sucks is that Monster Hunter World isn't going to be on the Switch and apparently Monster Hunter XX, the one coming to Switch, isn't going to get a US release.

How is dope it to play a monster hunter game on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC?

It looks epic as is!

Oh, wow. How did I not see this game before? Just watching the trailer gave me an adrenaline rush. I've never played a game like this but I like the way it looks. The thing that excited me the most is the coop option. Slaying some dinos with your friends?? yes, please.

I'd love to give it a try. Hopefully, they give us a free demo for the consoles just so we can see how it is before the full release.

it's very easy to over look games at E3.

I'm really happy that the series is finally coming to PC as I don't have any other consoles. I've heard a lot of good things about the Monster Hunter series, especially from one of my favorite YouTuber's, ProJared. Since I've never played a game from the series I hope that this installment holds up the quality that the legacy is known for, because it'll be my first experience with it.

I heard the game can actually get really difficult at times so we'll so how noob friendly it is.

Looks great! I read that as "Monster Rancher", which was a game/TV show when I was a kid so I got excited for a bit. But the gameplay in this one still is amazing to look at. And the coop function is pretty neat as well, since I have 2 brothers and it's always more fun to play multiplayer compared to playing solo for hours at a time. I'm a pretty thrifty gamer though, so I'd probably sit on this game until I get a decent amount of discount from sales, since I rarely pay for a game full price. Cheap, I know, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Love the last scene of the trailer lol. Seems okay, I'm not a fan of monster hunter, but it's a good thing that they will release in PC. I might try this with my friends and we'll cook some dinosaurs for dinner.
