I don't think MSE (guessing you mean Microsoft Security Essentials) is a good AV. I suggest getting AVG

I stop using MSE since it seems kind of more heavy/bloated using more RAM, and CPU compared to other Antivirus like Vipre, NOD32, Kaspersky, Avira, Avast, etc. I heard AVG 2012 is pretty good now and uses less system resources then AVG 2010-11.

Anyway, works totally fine for me. Never had any issues with it on.
