It's pretty good progress when people can be rescued from space like this. Back in the days of the space shuttle or apollo, if your ride failed you'd guaranteed dead.

Well I mean you always run the risk of something happening upon re-entry. Nowadays the chances of survival are pretty high but you never know what could happen.

I read about this when I was doing classes with my students. I think this is a really unfortunate situation for anyone to be in. Reason? Imagine your wife is pregnant and you went on a mission for few weeks and now you know you will stay up there for months so you will miss the birth of your child. That's wild.
