That was fast. It wasn't even a month ago that Netflix announced plans to break off its DVD rental service into the new entity Qwikster. This was a noteworthy turn of events for you G4 fans because part of the Qwikster plan involved adding video games as a rental option. The games may still come, but Qwikster, not so much.

Company boss Reed Hastings confirmed the news in a post on The Netflix Blog, writing "it is clear that for many of our members two websites will make things more difficult." Seriously-- I could have told him that would be the case last month, before this all started. So there will be no change as a result-- everything you know (in the realm of Netflix, ay any rate) will stay exactly as it is.

Hastings doesn't make any mentions of video games, which were to be part of Qwikster's expanded service. He does write that "we are committed to making Netflix the best place to get movies & TV shows," but that's hardly confirmation of games being off the table. There's no official word one way or another just yet, though expect to hear more soon.

Well it costs more than having Netflix for both of the things... Pretty damn annoying, but not that expensive. About $30 for both services together.

Jeez it makes me kind of glad my husband and I never went for gamefly..

The commercials reeked of bullshit and anyone with common sense would have known that there are places you can get the games you want for a lot less than $70.. (or so the bald dude in ads claim..)

I can tell the kids they use are totally being paid and reading off a card.
