Mega Man fans helped Capcom select the new heroine for Mega Man Legends 3. But that was just the beginning of the 3DS title's user contribution component.
Today in Japan, Capcom announced the next phase. Fans are being asked to design a new mech for Tron Bonne and crew. The person who designs the best mech will have their work included in the game and their name included in the credits list.
Capcom will also be giving a prize of "Dev Room Zenny." This appears to be some form of currency for the upcoming SNS conversion of the Mega Man Legends 3 Dev Room blog.
To help get the creative juices flowing, Capcom has provided plenty of materials. In addition to a look at past Bonne mechs and a look at the Bonne family as a whole (for those who may not be familiar with this particular side of the Mega Man legacy), Capcom has released four design documents with hints about what the staff is hoping for from the final mech design.
The only problem is, all the documents are in Japanese. At present, Capcom has not officially announced this phase of the game's promotional campaign for English audiences. Such an announcement would take place at the Dev Room blog, so we'd suggest checking the site for updates.
