A new Nintendo lawsuit is making the rounds in which the company is looking for $4,500,000 in damages from Switch piracy Reddit moderator Archbox. This person operated multiple piracy sites.

Nintendo says that the defendant “has engaged in the infringing and unlawful reproduction and distribution of hundreds or thousands of copyrighted Nintendo Switch Games, and that through the various Pirate Shops, he has distributed or facilitated the distribution of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of unauthorized copies of such Nintendo Switch Games.”

It seems this initially began after Nintendo asked the activities to stop. That didn’t happen, which brought on the lawsuit. This person has also now responded to the lawsuit as things stand currently.

Beyond that, next steps have not been decided. A ruling has not been made so we’ll have to sit on this one and see what happens. If we hear about any other updates, we’ll let you know.

I'm not a fan of Nintendo, but having Switch games easily accessible to download is illegal. It's one thing if you want to back up games you own and play them on a Emulator, but this is different. They even gave the guy a warning, but he ignored it and went on to continue to host the games.

Wonder why the guy didn't stop, the Nintendo lawyer ninjas are not to be messed with.
