The Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack went live on October 25, allowing upgrading subscribers to have access to a select number of classic Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis titles. Unfortunately, subscribers are reporting numerous issues with the games provided, making for an underwhelming launch with plenty of fans disappointed with Nintendo.

There is currently a multitude of issues with the service across many of its games, making it hard to nail down what Nintendo should be tackling first to fix. The major problems players are citing are things like low frame rates, input lag, sound effect delay, and texture problems to name just a few. What's more, the Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack doesn't allow players to re-map the default button layout for the controller.

The Nintendo 64's controller didn't have a traditional button layout so the one provided for its titles doesn't make a whole lot of sense. For starters, the "A" and "B" buttons are flipped when mapped to the Joy-Cons and the yellow "C" buttons are halfway mapped to the "X" and "Y" face buttons while the rest require the player to hold down another button to use them. Until there is a remap feature, you will need to buy a N64 controller, that at least came back into stock recently.

Good thing I didn't get the expansion pack!

(Insert 30 minute long rant about how Nintendo lost their way here)

Wonder what GBATemp's saying about it...

Their is always room for improvement. Ninetendo should take those complaints into action and rectify the issues tabled by the users to make such expansion a user-friendly one.

And separate the temporary DLC from the price, or HOW ABOUT MAKING THE ONLINE SERVICE A ONE TIME PAYMENT, THE BAST***S...

They can't, the usage would quickly out price the yearly cost to keep up the servers and networking costs.
