If you don't know what I mean, I mean songs that you hear and for some reason it just reminds you of a location in a video game, or a certain mission, or something else. Maybe because the song sounds similar or maybe because you were listening to a song while playing the game. So here's some of mine.

Hotel California by The Eagles reminds me of Sirena Beach in Super Mario Sunshine.

This is one I can't for the life of me explain. Ever since I was a kid, everytime I heard this song I would just think about Sirena Beach and the hotel there. I mean, yes there's a hotel, but other than that there's no real connection. Though when I was younger, this song kind of scared me. Like when I was a kid, I thought it was about a hotel with a giant monster is the basement that prevented people from leaving. Apprently it's about drugs... But I digress.

This one is hard to explain. I heard this song for the first time last year and the beat that starts at 00:45 reminds me of Mario Party. The thing is I don't know why. I think it has the same sound as a song from Mario Party, but I can't for the life of me remember what Mario Party. I think it's the mini game explaination song from Mario Party 7, but I could be wrong. I can look that up. Hold on... No I just listened to all 8 of them and none of them were right, but I swear it sounds like a Mario Party song. I mean I really don't want to listen to the entire Mario Party 1-8 soundtrack just to find it so I hope someone will agree with me so I don't look crazy.

Last one I'll be doing for now and I'm just going to say, this one holds a special place in my heart. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen reminds me of the alien mission in Majora's Mask.

My first time playing Majora's Mask, I was trying to get Epona. Everyone who has played Majora's Mask knows that getting Epona isn't the most fun thing to do. I was stuck on that mission for 2 days because I didn't have the bunny hood and I wasn't used to shooting arrows while on Epona because I didn't do that sidequest in Ocarina of Time. I was going at it blind. Well after 2 days of frustration, I had to go to my grandparents house, which is when I got new music for my iPod and my dad told me that I would like the song Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. So I looked it up, listened to it, was amazed, and I downloaded it. Later that night I was playing Majora's Mask, listening to Bohemian Rhapsody on repeat and then the magic happened. I beat that mission I was stuck on for two days. The song was like a kind of magic for me. So now when I hear Bohemian Rhapsody I always think of the alien mission. Plus it gave the gateway for Queen to become my all time favorite band, but again, I digress.

So after all that, what non video game music reminds you of a certain point in a video game?

"Dream Weaver" by Gary Wright reminds me of the first Spyro game because not only is one World called Dream Weavers but it's a song about fantasy and flying. It also has a similar musical feel compared to Spyro the Dragon music.

"1 21 Guns" by Green Day reminds me of Pokemon's Route 209 music in that they sound very close.

The intro to "I Gotta Feeling" reminds me of a part of the Brinstar Theme (about 45 seconds in) and I somehow imagine the two intertwining.

The Apprentice (UK version) has a lot of songs which remind me of Nintendo games.

I definitely remember one which sounded like the ghost house music from Mario 3D Land. And the fired/boardroom theme has always seemed a bit like the Dreamy Somnom Woods theme from Dream Team:

A lot of the songs that remind me of video games are simply because they were playing on my radio while I played the games. For instance, listening to Switchfoot's "Meant to Live" reminds me of Wind Waker. Also, "I Like That" by Houston (I think this song was used in McDonald commercials too) always brings to mind "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" on GC; it's such a weird association but I remember it being played all the time on the radio around the time I was playing LotR a lot.

Basically what ever chiptune that I make or listen to reminds me of a video game since chiptune is made using old electronics, suchas videogame consoles, which is the only connection to videogames the genre has,so hopefully I can still qualify to post in this thread lol XD

Rescuse time by Fighter X reminds me of NES MegaMan games because of the arps and chords and pulse leads. They give off that familiar MegaMan vibe to me,especially since the energy of the song feels like it belongs to something packed with action.

Every time I listen to Lightspeed Lucy by Shirobon, the percussive instruments yank the crap out of my nostalgia chords and remind me of my favorite gameboy game of all time,Power quest. Theyre insanely similar and I wouldn't be surprised if he actually replicated them.

Oh yeah I can totally hear the Megaman in that song.

This music reminds me of Rayman. I'm not really sure why, but without the singing I could see it being background music in the series.

So I got more.

This song reminds me of Super Mario 64 in general. Anyone who has watch anything with "Super Mario 64 Bloopers" in the title will know why. It's probably the most played song whenever the game is sped up. I do love the song though.

This song reminds me of Shy Guy's Toy Box from the original Paper Mario. The reason is because back in 2011 or 2012, (I don't really remember) I restarted playing Paper Mario and I only listened to my playlist of Scatman John. For some reason the only song that stuck to anything in the game was this song and Shy Guy's Tox Box.
