One Thing Whenever - My Goal To Make Stuff

Thing #6 - Troll-kitu

Moclon asked for it so I figured I'd deliver. That said, don't go thinking this is a topic where I'll go fill your every desire, sonny boy!

Still, there's no denying this was amusing to make up.

Best birth-day present EVER.

I love you Dan <3

Well, here we are! Still going strong and haven't given up! And I forget when I started!

And as a bonus...

Thing #5.1 - The Bubbles Live

I figured I owed you guys for the lacklustre Thing #5.0 so here's the finished product! Might still tweak it but other than that I'm fine with it for now. My main highlight for these things is making them from scratch with program default plug ins only. Really forces you to be creative and achieve interesting results. Most of the good plugins cost money, though I do know of one suite that is free and pretty amazing for the features it offers, including audio syncing technology for just about any element you could think of (and the particle system is amazing too from what I've seen, and you can even combine the audio and particle plugins for some nice effects).

And Dan, you gotta post something today, or else..

Thing #7.1 - The New Site Continues

Well, I didn't do much unfortunately, because I just always get run down on a Friday night. Either way, we're back with the N3DSC redesign. One challenge I face is where to place the header bar. Do I just stick it up the top again to keep it simple stupid? I'm thinking so. Still, doing this helped me realise how easy it is to quickly style stuff with CSS and how designing in-browser is an awesome technique that I definitely want to take into the workforce.

I made the navigation fixed too; I really don't mind that feature. I may need to look into how this might look horrible on a phone or something though (I'm building this for desktops only though).

My personal opinion? Just leave the bar up top as is. If anything, I can keep that fixed as well so it follows your scrolling (or not, depends).

Gotta love those board descriptions.. Will you add colors on the final version?

Yup, I'll focus on the colours once I get the overall layout done and I'm happy with how it all works. Adding colours should be generally simply, maybe just a bit time consuming to get it looking right.

The board descriptions made me lofl.
Who is this infant so called Jem?

Well I did some research to find out who this Jeb (not Jem) is, and I was shocked....

It turns out that NintenDan had a child in 1989 with an unknown female Shy Guy.... and long story short, I was that child.

*looks at NintenDan* DADDY! I FINALLY FOUND YOU!

Oh and Moclon's one of my siblings

Apparently the first two Quotes are from a movie called unbreakable, and the third is from Pulp Fiction. Both star Samuel L Jackson, so I must ask NintenDan...
Does he look like a bitch?

Dear all,

I sincerely apologise for the lack of updates for two days. No Moclon, you aren't getting promoted as an administrator. I've just had a... rough week I guess, if you wanted to call it that. Probably isn't rough compared to what thousands of others have to go through every day but it hindered my ability to think or do anything so yeah. It's a bad excuse, but I will aim to get back on my feet by tomorrow and continue with the site design and go back to my vector Shenanigan Guy illustrations.

Thank you for reading and following this topic and hopefully I can get back into the swing of things!

I was uncertain if I should make this next thing an actual "Thing", but I ended up doing so anyway, because hey, it's doing something different and is time consuming so I don't want to push it aside to do other Things. So enjoy!

Thing #8.0 - Vector Shy Guy in Da House

Yup, new poses! I removed the shading because I want to work on it again, but the goal now is to give each character these four poses to help with more fluid (yet blocky, in it's own unique style) animations.

The next steps are to draw extra facial expressions and body parts (like the bottom of feet for walking animations) and then tackle shading yet again. And once that's done I'll try animate a walking Shy Guy for fun! Or the whole gang walking! *smiley face*

I could've sworn I already say those Shy Guy pictures in a different thread..

You did, but I added even more to them and decided to turn it into another one of my Things, lol.

Oh Nintendan, I can't seem to figure if you're lazy or busy.

Just change it to "One Thing Per 3 Days".

Or "One Thing A Week"

Or "One Thing A Month"

Or "One Thing A Year"

Or "One Thing A Decade"

Or "One Thing per every time Justin Bieber sings decently"

Mostly busy, so that said, I feel like a transition into a weekly affair would be a good idea and less misleading. Work has been horrible to me in terms of hours and travel time over the past two weeks so daily stuff become difficult. I certainly haven't lost motivation and intend to do heaps of catch up in my time off.

That, and I was editing the site's skin two nights ago and now I can't edit it because after the forum upgrade I got blocked and can't access the server to edit any of the skin files.
