What is one thing you like most about Xbox over the other console makers?

I like that the Xbox Series consoles looks likely to tip over when placed vertically because the bottom is square shaped.

I also like that there are a lot of cooling vents, so it looks like it would run at a lower temperature when playing games.

Backwards compatibility, they've always been ahead of the competition IMO since the 360 era. Sure not every game is backwards compatible, but Microsoft did it better after Sony dropped the ball with the later PS3 models. Then with the PS4 not being backwards compatible at all, I understand it's not easy getting backwards compatibility to work when you've got chips with different architectures but still. I can play more Sonic games on my Xbox than I can on my PS5. (I could play more games on my PC though over the Xbox if we bring up sailing the seven seas for the games that aren't on any modern console lol.)

There is actually quite a lot I like about Xbox. It has my favorite controller layout, although that is a personal preference.

More importantly, I love the Home Xbox feature. Everyone in the household can access my games, Game Pass benefits, and online multiplayer from their own accounts. That is a huge money-saver when you have children because you do not need to share accounts or buy the same games multiple times.

Xbox Play Anywhere is another major benefit. Not every game supports it, and you need the Xbox app on PC, but being able to buy a supported game once and play it on both console and PC is extremely useful. Cross-save and cross-progression make that even better because I can switch devices without losing progress.

Those features feel genuinely consumer-friendly, especially compared with Nintendo having almost no PC presence and PlayStation being inconsistent with its PC releases.

I also like the Xbox family controls, although they still need considerable improvement. They are useful for managing what children can access, but like most family-management apps, they leave a lot to be desired. Overall, Xbox’s biggest strength for me is that its ecosystem makes gaming across a household and multiple devices easier and less expensive.

If only they had better games, they would become another Nintendo.
