I always maintained the core game is great when everyone was hating on it and I didn't have any trouble looking past the performance issues and bugs to see what was beyond and that's why I enjoyed it even on release. Bugs can be fixed, but if the core game is crap there's no hope for the game. This turnaround in terms of reviews is only possible in the former case and with a sustained effort to actually fix things.

People were bitching about the constant delays despite the developers saying it wasn’t ready. Then there was the huge amount of asshurt on the penultimate release date and caused the shareholders to tell them to release it anyway, and people were shocked that it was buggy. Who saw that coming?

Which reminds me of the reason I managed to enjoy it. I wasn't watching any additional trailers/content , video essays or talking to any one about what to expect.

At least they finally got it to the finish line like it should have?
