Sony can take the hit. The problem is that they lost a lot of money on all the live service bullshit. I don't like Hermen Hulst. He needs to go. Time to step down, bucko.
I don't believe anything other than Hermen Hulst driving the wrong horse, driving the wrong car, driving the wrong truck. So to speak. Ever since he got in, we've been on this downward spiral. He's like the Hiroki Totoki character, waiting for the stock to fall, so they can take a payday.
If Hermen was smart enough, we'd have all this riding a high right now.
I also don't blame Bungie in a lot of ways. I do blame them for going woke, and bringing us a weak Marathon product, because if they had kept going this great run. Destiny 2 was dying anyway, but my thing is, if Bungie had just made better decisions, we wouldn't have all this problem. Bungie is a good developer, the problem is the decisions. Marathon could have been a better product, and may even become a better product than it is now. Mostly because Marathon is basically Halo. That universe is Halo. That universe is Destiny. Marathon is an experimental project, to see what they can do.
Sony is just in the worst position as a company. But I believe if Hulst and Totoki left the company, then we would be in a better position.
Sony can take a hit, but the problem with Sony right now is the management that exists now, doesn't even know who Hideo Kojima is. Neither does Microsoft under Asha Sharma. But Asha Sharma is being told to take the Hideo Kojima project because they need a killer app.

Thinking this guy isn't as great as people make him out to believe. Not sure if going with MS is smart since they are cutting the already cut corners.

He should have made Physint instead of death stranding 2 after death stranding 1's so so sales. Kojima has the ability to make good stealth action games. Problem is his realy expensive personal fetish of employing hollywood expensive stars in his games, balooning the game dev cost further, and with the current era of already expensive game dev cost makes it worse. Even if the game manages to at least break even or make some profit current Sony still wants a higher or better ROI given the Kojima name in video games than the current ROI.
Mainly will depend on how good will the Physint game sales be imo. If the game bombs sales wise or not selling good enough thus low ROI again then high chance of xbox cutting ties with Kojima too.
I'm of two minds on this: It makes business sense to employ "employing" expensive stars, not so much hollywood, but the reason companies hire expensive stars is to be familiar. Secondly, they are great marketing set-pieces, for example... MADS MIKKELSEN was cast for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4...
Annnnnd.... THAT will be nasty PR for them.
Microsoft has been trying to break into the Asian markets for a while now. As long as Xbox 360 era.
