Player got arrested

竹ノ塚 (Takenotsuka), a neighbourhood in 足立区 (Adachi), which is north-east Tokyo.
Still surprised people still do such things even after so many arrests based on the same cases.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but it doesn't seem Japan punishes sexual crimes as much as other nations do. Most likely not helped any by the fact Japan conducts many sexual business.

It's actually being punished, and really harsh too.
There aren't many most wanted posters around here, but when they are, it's 90% likely to be a sexual assault related criminal.

The difference is just that whatever is considered "criminal sex" and what is considered "legal sex" here differs from elsewhere.
For example, the whole world agrees that child pornography is criminal wherever you are, but if the child in question is a 2D fantasy one (so no real child!), it's considered legal in Japan, while it's considered criminal elsewhere.

The most common issue we have related to this is the groping incidents in trains, where men randomly touch women by their arse and try to rape them.
This crime is easily done because most women find it too shameful to report such incidents to whoever (this even includes police or doctors).
Many trains already have a "women-only" cabin as a result, but despite that there are usually more men in these cabins than women.

Thing is though, the RK manga writer is apparently already paid his sentence. Which is kind of crazy.

So I know of the butt grabs, but people are actually raped on trains?

Sorry, what?
Just keep away from those criminals :p

I saw a video from youtube about 'Chikan', about harassment on trains. The guy on the video said the same thing, women in japan are really shy to go to the police. The guy even interviewed some random japanese, some says they are going to call the police and some say they wont. As far as I remember. But rape on train? does that really happen didn't know that. I thought Japan is a very safe country.

Just what's with the Japanese girls why are there so many of those cases happen in Japan. 「(゚ペ)

Look up "chikan", and you'll see.
The issue is bigger than Demon would expect.

Here the pink thing on the window even says it's only for women, but despite that there are more men in there than women:

Edit: just for clarification: the "women only" rule only applies during rush hours.
But even then, there are people who would still break this rule any way, since it's easy to get lost in the crowds.

It's safe when it comes to getting robbed, stabbed, etc., but rape is certainly a thing to watch out for.

If video games is the cause of violence then anime/cosplay/manga is the cause of... :p
Isn't Hollywood causing any violence then?
There have actually been revelations about how Hollywood films are being used since its very existence as propaganda tools, and how Hollywood bosses were sexually assaulting women in exchange for a role in movies.
So making so much effort of banning video games while doing absolutely nothing against Hollywood movies is rather hypocrite.

That is very unfortunate. Though I am a bit afraid to ask as to how extreme can it get? Specially in a society that I was reading recently about a NEET problem.

Hentai certainly does not help.

I've seen quite some people online who are NEET.
They'd spend all day gaming, though compared to the total amount of Japanese people I know online it isn't much.
This did create 2 terms in the slang realm: リア充 (riajuu) and 非リア (hiria).
リア充 are people who have a girlfriend or boyfriend (depending on their gender) and live a happy life.
非リア on the other hand are people who spend all day on a computer, video games, etc., without any social interaction with anyone.
