Read from kotaku:

Since the PS5 was released last November, players have taken to social media to share stories about DualSense drift. One user reported the issue 10 days after receiving their PS5, stating they tried every possible fix—power-cycling the console, turning Bluetooth on and off, resetting the controller, and, finally, charging it fully overnight—to no avail.

Another uploaded a video to Reddit that appears to show some serious controller drift. In the 15-second clip, you can clearly see the player’s fingers off the thumbsticks while playing Destiny 2. And yet, the player’s gun—a snazzy sidearm that bears a strong resemblance to Lonesome, a legendary sidearm with a terrific fire rate and some serious punch—drifts across the screen of its own accord. Yes, Beyond Light’s Europa boasts some stunning vistas, but they’re better enjoyed when you’re actually at the controls.

DualSense drift is covered under warranty. You will, however, have to pay for shipping your controller to a Sony repair center—a cost that varies based on a number of factors, including location and the total weight of your package—but Sony apparently covers the return shipping. No recoup on whatever you pay for that first shipping label.

Haven't had any issues with drift so far (touch wood). But I did have a problem with one of the buttons being "sticky" where it sort of felt like it would stay pressed for a few milliseconds longer. Luckily, Amazon sorted it out for me by giving me money to just buy a new one

Pretty sure this is the one thing they should not have copied from Nintendo.

Love that message they apparently got about support not able to tell where to buy PS5s :P

I hope they get it fixed, I'm not paying Sony to fix their broken stuff.

Saw a video on how to fix it:

yeah not paying $60 for a controller that I have to fix right out of box.

Which reminds me I need to get my grandma a new controller, her left stick don't read forward input well.
Hopefully the Pro version of the Ps5 won't have the issue...

So will your Grandma be getting the Pro Ps5 too when it's out?

I feel there would eventually be third-party controllers which are less likely to have joystick drift problems.

The joystick drift problem can lower the resale value of used PS5 controllers, so I think now is not a good time to re-sell a used PS5 controller even if you fix the drift problem yourself.

It will be a long time before they sort out this drifting issue. The PS4 had the same issue and they didn't bother fixing it for the PS5 so I doubt it will be fixed by the time the Pro comes out

I highly doubt it, she be pushing mid 80s by then. I'm trying to get her into the Switch, a lot more games better for her aging hands.

Should I consider myself lucky my controller never drifted?

This, I don't have any drift issue with my ps4 controller too.

Have to wonder if people are just too rough?
probably. It's like the F-14A/B Tomcat, if you pull on the fighter's flight stick too hard for too long when flying really fast or really slow it will cause the fighter to "drift" to another direction lol

Or the Ps4 just needs some PLOT love to prevent the drift lol

Sad controllers aren't made the same as they used to. Beat the living hell out of my NES, SNES and N64 controller, never even scratched.

It is sad that game console companies ignore people's request for higher quality controllers. I remember reading some reviews on Amazon on buyers saying the Ouya's wireless controller is great which is impressive for a $100 Android game console.

It is sad that the PS5 controller have a drift problem when a cheaper Ouya controller don't have many complaints on joystick drift problems.

Depends on the controller as well I think. For some reason, the original PS4 controller never gave me any trouble. But the second version started to drift after a while.
