True, but the template I use is no longer supported or maintained and I've made HUGE changes to it. I can't possibly see myself ever duplicating all of that work....

well if you have the money you could contact someone on the xenforo forum to code it for xenforo 2.
Checked out the bracket and my portfolio might meet you in the last four if we both make it that far. And then my webmaster blog might meet you in the final if we both make it that far. Let's hope so. Would make a good battle

xenforo 1 will become unsupported and full of issues, it won't be usable.
It works fine right now and I haven't upgraded in at least a year. Why would it become "full of issues"?

Issues and other security flaws will be discovered after support for it ends, making it a risky software to keep employing.
I'm not worried about it.
