Pokemon Gray Announcement

That's not certain. For example, FireRed and LeafGreen were released BEFORE Emerald, however, HeartGold and SoulSilver were released AFTER Platinum.

There will NOT be an Emerald remake... how many times?

Red = FireRed
Green = LeafGreen
Yellow = ???
Gold = HeartGold
Silver = SoulSilver
Crystal = ???

Where are the Yellow and Crystal remakes?

[font=verdana,geneva,sans-serif]I kind of miss the old pokemon. I couldn't even finish Black/ White i was too heartbroken.

Ok, Ok, calm down TUK. I was kind of refering that their might be something to do with emerald in those remakes.That's why I included emerald, we might get the story from emerald or something to that effect.

So, from this interview, it sounds like the big announcement is going to be Sunday! While Masuda does not reveal exactly what it will be, he tells fans to watch this week's Pokemon Smash episode or follow his Twitter account for the announcement. He seems to be indicating either a direct sequel to Black and White (Gray) or even two games, exclusive to the 3DS!

Anyone here better at Japanese then me?

Maybe a duel release? (3DS, DS) like Twilight princess?

Has that happened before with the series?

Heck, is it possible? I recall Pokemon Gold and Silver were designed for the Game Boy Color but programmed to still be compatible with the original greyscale one. But I don't think it's possible to have a 3DS/DS game which can recognise whether it's being played on a DS or 3DS and enable/disable features like 3D respectively (although that would be quite cool).

That's why I said it sounded like an exclusive, which would be great since my friends who play DS but do not own a 3DS all claim that if Pokemon went over they would too. In the original Black and White versions, it could recognize if you were playing on the Ds or DSi and would enable in-battle chat and even video chat if you had the DSi.

May possibly also be a new Pokémon event. Picture of Keldeo with some Game Boy on the wall.

So, it looks like both sides of the argument were wrong in our assumptions of what was next. Since other threads were made, I will end this one here by telling you to check out the Pokemon Black and White 2 threads (I saw 2-3 of them already).

Personally, I feel this is a horrible idea for many reasons. As a 3DS exclusive it could have brought millions of DS holdouts into buying the 3DS over a PS Vita (since the timing of the announcement) and could have really added to the Pokemon world similar to what Platinum did. Instead, being another 2 game set, it only serves to further tax fans with little new to offer them. Yes, Pokemon trainers love the story, but for the most part, trainers love knowing each experience is different and unique while expanding the world of Pokemon. Just offering a continuation and a few different transformations of Pokemon is not enough for me.

It is too early to judge this game, but for now I am disappointed and will probably hold out until the last moment until I am certain whether this game is really worth it or not.

I was told by a source that it wasn't for the 3DS and was simply two DS games: Pokemon White 2 and Pokemon Black 2 which expand on Kyurem and his two forms (both relating to the two dragons). It would be very unlikely to be on the 3DS because all "third installations" were for the same console as its two previous ones. Red, Blue, Yellow were all for GBC, Silver, Gold, Crystal were all for GBC, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, were all for GBA, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, were all for DS. For FireRed/LeafGreen and HeartGold/SoulSilver, these games were remakes of the originals. GameShark isn't going to make a remake of a remake (Yellow/Crystal) of an original. That would be triple-dipping in the consumer's wallets and would be frowned upon just how people frown upon Sony's decision to make you re-buy a PSP game that you bought just a few months ago because the newer models didn't support discs.

But you make a point.

Game Freak said they were gonna do something for this.But would they announce it right on the spot?No.So we have to wait,and then we'll get more surprises.

Hmm.. I swore that I typed GameFreak xD oh well lol Also HG/SS in a sense is a remake of Yellow and Crystal merged together (moving sprites, pokemon following you, etc.)
